Chamber music:

Today i’m gonna talk about my favourite subject in this semester or this year, which is Chamber Music: This subject basically consist in the work in group of repertory of chamber music - chamber music is the music that needs a minor group of musicians (8 musicians at most) in comparation with an orchestra that needs 40 musicians at least - with rehearsals with and withouth a teacher. Finally the exam consist in play the music that the group worked during the year in front a comission of teachers. The faculty offer to the students a select group of teachers that can teach this subject, most of them are instrument player and others are composers.

This year the group which i participate consist in a sextet of a violin, cello, clarinet, trumpet, fagot and piano and we are working a suite of the ballet of “La revue de cuisine” (The kitchen’s review) composed by Bohulav Martinu, and also we are working with a friend/student of composition of the faculty, he’s composing a work for us, and that’s great beacause that’s one of the reasons of why i’m studying music; work with composers and play new music.
This year my teacher is Andrés Maupoint he’s composer and this is his first time teaching this subjetc because we (the sextet) asked him that he could teach us this year and he accepted.

So, chamber music is my favourite subject in this semester and this year because i’m working music with friends and i’m working music that i choose to work (la revue de cuisine) and because we are working with a friend that’s composing for us, and we have plans to play this music in different concerts, so i hope that works too.

I let you the music of “la reveu de cuisine” composed by Bohuslav Martinu:
